About Mohsen Badiey

Professor Badiey’s research constitutes data analysis for complex problems utilizing theoretical, experimental, and computational approaches in applied physics. The recent focus has been the overlap between physics and mechanical systems in sound and vibration in the environment requiring versatile instrumentation such as specialized data acquisition systems and arrays for data collection. Scientific areas of interest span applied physics, mathematics, engineering, signal processing, and ocean sensing. The research work starts from fundamental discovery (basic research) and advances to practical research (applied research) applicable to the real-world problems. It includes at-sea data collection, signal processing, and machine learning for the data analysis.
