Degree Student
Off-Campus Courses Held at Aberdeen Proving Ground
APG employees can enroll in individual credit courses, pursue a part-time M.S. or Ph.D. in ECE. A “step up” model allows for the accumulation of credentials, with stackable certificates applicable to the M.S. degree, which in turn can contribute to the Ph.D. program.
M.S. in ECE (non-thesis)
- 30 credit hours of coursework (10 graduate-level courses)
M.S. in ECE (thesis)
- 24 credit hours of coursework (8 graduate-level courses) and master’s thesis
Ph.D. in ECE
- Completion of M.S in ECE course requirements
- Admission to Candidacy
- Research Program and Dissertation
Students wishing to apply for the graduate certificate, master’s, or Ph.D. program can directly apply at the UD Graduate Application website.
Steps to enroll in courses as a Degree student:
Admission requirements:
- Applicants should have a B.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or a related field.
- Recommendation letters for M.S. applicants can be waived upon request. In the ‘Recommenders’ tab, Applicants can complete the required fields (name, institution, etc.) with the word ‘waived’ and use ece-gradadvisor@udel.edu as the email address for the reference.
- In place of the Essay, upload a simple document specifying your interest in attending graduate courses at the Aberdeen (APG) location.
- No GRE required!
- No application fee! This fee is waived for U.S. Veterans, Active Duty Military, National Guard, and Reserves members. If you qualify for one of the fee waiver categories listed above, check the appropriate box for the program on the application. After submitting the graduate application, you will then need to upload documentation from your program leadership confirming your participation and affiliation with the program on your application status page.
Course Cancellations
Contact the course instructor or registrar to withdraw your nomination prior to the registration deadline to avoid being billed. After the deadline, you must contact the course instructor to cancel and determine whether your organization will be billed. We avoid charging whenever possible, but if we have contracted for the course and only have the minimum number required to pay the bill, we have no choice but to charge for late cancellations and “no-shows.”
