Associate Professor

About Andrew Novocin

Professor Novocin works in applications of algebraic number theory, pedagogical practices, and software engineering. His mathematical research centers on symbolic computation including state-of-the-art algorithms for univariate polynomial factorization and lattice reduction. Applications of these algorithms are used in a wide variety of problems from cryptography to compressed sensing. Thus Prof. Novocin has spent considerable effort in creating high-performance open-source implementations of his algorithms for use by daily practitioners. He currently aims to create practical fully homomorphic and lattice-based encryption schemes with proofs of security. Prof. Novocin is currently the director of the Vertically Integrated Projects and Cyber Scholars programs at the University of Delaware.
