Electrical and Computer Engineering plans weekend of celebration to mark anniversary
The University of Delaware’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2017. The milestone will be marked by a celebration weekend beginning on Friday, May 19.
Events will include a student drone competition, a barbecue lunch, a research showcase, campus tours, and a gala.
The agenda also includes several “SPARC” (Society Provoking Arresting Research Conversations) sessions and ECEx talks. Topics include commercialization, future technologies and education, and women in engineering. U.S. Sen. Christopher Coons of Delaware and Fingerworks CEO Jeff White are among those scheduled to speak.
The department’s new iSuite will also be dedicated during the weekend.
