OVERVIEW:
This course will focus on the development and application of Maxwell's
equations as they apply to the analysis of guided wave, radiation, and
scattering problems. Topics covered include, wave propagation, reflection
and transmission, transmission lines and cavities. Special emphasis
will be given to antennas and scattering structures.
PREREQUISITES:
Undergraduate Electromagnetic Fields and Vector Calculus

- Chp. 9 Sections 9.1-9.3 and 9.5
- Chp. 11 Sections 11.1-11.5
- Chp. 12 Sections 12.1-12.3
GRADING:
- Homeworks / Computer Projects 30%
- Midterm Exam 30%
- Final Exam 40%
GENERAL COMMENTS:
- Homeworks are for your benefit, problems will be discussed in volunteer
review sessions and used as the basis for both exams.
- Exams are closed book, closed notes (unless indicated otherwise).
- No make-up exams will be given without prior arrangement.
