- Packet switch, circuit switching, types of multiplexing: pros and cons,
why, demonstrate, what is a virtual circuit, pros and cons, advantages of
allowing VCs
- Utilization – problem 11 p 65
- ISP, what make a Tier XX ISP a Tier XX ISP,what was the video of/what was
going on there
- Describe HTTP, SMTP, DNS, peer-to-peer nets
- Provide state-diagrams for query e.g., expanding ring and reverse path forwarding,
or maybe some other protocol,
- What is the difference between a binary tree search and a KaZaA hierarchical
system?
- Graph theory definitions
- What might transport layer do? What services does it provide?
- UDP vs TCP details, I.e., why one or the other.
- TCP/UDP ports
- Explain ARQ, give a simple protocol e.g. Seq num. ACKs, stop-and-wait, go-back-n,
selective repeat, cumulative ACK, state-diagrams or other way to explain the
process
- Bandwidth-delay product.
