VHESC Project Steps to Phase 2
As the conclusion of Phase I of the DARPA VHESC program is fast approaching, many significant accomplishments have been achieved. The formation of a successful team, consisting of 20 subcontractors, 10 faculty members and IEC working together, has managed to exceed the solar cell performance goal for Phase I. A new integrated optical and solar cell design has been invented. The initial solar cell device results were shared with colleagues at the 2006 IEEE 4th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion in May. The VHESC program is managed by Professors Allen Barnett and Christiana Honsberg.
