ECE engages in Supercomputer Research with CAPSL
In the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at University of Delaware, we are engaging in advanced research on supercomputer architectures and systems. The picture to the right shows members of Computer Architecture and Parallel System Laboratory (CAPSL) working with a state-of-the-art supercomputer consisting of large number of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) chips that is designed specifically for the high-speed emulation and verification of large-scale multi-core microprocessor chip technology. In collaboration with IBM and ETI, these chips will be used in the study of next-generation high-performance computer architecture and system software.
