Research Interests
Professor Buma's overall research theme is developing high resolution, real-time imaging systems and exploring their applications. Efforts include imaging physics, component fabrication, systems integration, and image reconstruction algorithms. Imaging modalities currently involve ultrasound imaging, terahertz imaging, and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Ultrasound and OCT imaging systems are being developed for biomedical applications, while real-time terahertz imaging systems are geared towards security screening and materials evaluation.
