26 Top Cybersecurity Companies

There’s no question that cybersecurity is in the spotlight today. Whenever a large organization is hacked, all eyes turn toward preventing more attacks in the future, which fuels expansion in the job market. For three years running, Burning Glass Technologies has presented an in-depth report on cybersecurity jobs, noting trends and developments as the industry evolves.

"Job postings for cybersecurity openings have grown three times as fast as openings for IT jobs overall, and it takes companies longer to fill cybersecurity positions than other IT jobs," says the 2015 report. “That’s bad for employers but good news for cybersecurity workers, who can command an average salary premium of nearly $6,500 per year, or 9% more than other IT workers.” The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics says that 2015 median pay in the category of information security analysts was more than $43 an hour, for more than $90,000 a year, and has a “much faster than average” job outlook from 2014 – 2024.

Let’s take a look at a few of the top cybersecurity companies to work for today, as chosen by experts in the industry.

How to Get a Job in Cybersecurity

Most of the job categories listed above carry a range of salaries and benefits. So what are the differences between the low and high ends of those ranges? Three variables, generally: experience, certifications and education.

One of the elements that can set job applicants apart ― and qualify them for jobs with higher responsibilities, salaries and benefits ― is a master’s degree in cybersecurity. The University of Delaware’s 30-credit online program is an example. To learn more about curriculum, faculty, tuition and financial aid, visit our website or the FAQ page.
