As seen at RESNA '97, and on "Good Morning America", Dancing Wheels is a professional integrated dance company. With half of the company in wheelchairs and the other half abled-bodied, Dancing Wheels artfully celebrates the true spirit of dance. Founded in 1980 by Mary Verdi-Fletcher, the company developed a strong relationship with the Cleveland Ballet and in 1990 formed Cleveland Ballet Dancing Wheels.
Sponsored by the University of Delaware's Performing Art Series and in part by the Science Engineering and Math (SEM) program of the Department of Applied Science and Engineering Laboratories. The SEM program is funded by a grant though the National Science Foundation.
