Member Privileges and Requirements

There are three categories of membership. All members will be included in one e-mail list for general discussion and information exchange.

Students: Student members are: youths in high school grades 9 - 12, challenged by a disability, and interested in science, engineering or math (SEM). They have access to mentors and are willing to share their experiences and discuss relevant topics through the community's main discussion list. They also have access to peers in the student email list.

Mentors: Mentor members are adults (with or without a disability) who are willing to become part of a pool of mentors to which students post questions or ask advice. They are SEM professionals, persons interested in SEM, and/or disability advocates. They take an active (leadership) role in sending information to the community's main discussion list for which they encourage and support student interactions and discussions on relevant topics.

Advocates: Advocate members receive postings and may post relevant questions and/or information to the community's main discussion list. They are adults or youths (with or without a disability) who are unable to participate at the level of a mentor or student, but are still interested in being involved. They do not receive messages sent to mentor or student specific lists.

Computer / Internet for Student Members: Computers may be loaned to participants. Internet access may also be provided (must be a Delaware resident). First come first served; subject to availability.
